Before establishing any signifier, do a dedicated divination session according to the divination session instructions of the Divination System (another page in this section) to confirm:
who the spirit is
why they are present
whether ongoing relationship is appropriate

No signifiers are set before this step.
Step 2: Ask for Their Numerical Signifier
In that same session, ask:
“What number do you use to identify yourself to me?”
Let the answer come through divination, intuition, or direct knowing.
Do not force interpretation.
Step 3: Ask for a Symbolic Signifier
Then ask:
“What symbol do you use to signal your presence?”
This may be:
an object
a shape or sigil
an animal
an element
a visual motif
Keep it simple. Spirits are efficient.
Step 4: Confirm Three Times
Confirmation matters.
Ask the spirit to:
