Breathe Easy Potion | Respiratory Aromatherapy Blend

Safety first

Familiarize yourself with aromatherapy and do a skin patch test before using any essential oil. Learn what you need to know with The Ultimate Aromatherapy for Beginners Guide here

As always, consult a trusted healthcare practitioner before trying any essential oils.

See below for contraindications and age requirements before trying this blend.

Remember, children are given lower amounts - see dilution chart mentioned below and always mind age requirements of all oils.

Most oils/blends have a three week time limit of use. Because of this, I recommend having a waxing moon blend and a waning moon blend for every need. That’s why there are two blends for many of the same things.

Most oils/blends are best at a 2% dilution, but some oils are better at much less like peppermint, pepper, and cardamom. (Half of the adult dilution or less for children, see dilution info below).

Oils/Blends are typically meant to be used up to 3 times a day unless otherwise stated.

If an oil occurs throughout multiple blends you are currently using, this needs to be taken into account in terms of dosing frequency and length of time.

See all specific info for every oil of every recipe before using.

Never take essential oils internally.

When using diluted, prepared, aromatherapy blends, a few drops on the wrist or forearm is typically ideal. Use lower dilutions in perfumes and body lotions and any other product intended to be used in a high amount such as a lotion or perfume or room spray.

The Blend (Nasal, Sinus, & Upper Respiratory Decongestant Aromatherapy Blend)

  • 1 drop of Patchouli (P. cablin)

  • 1 drop of Pine (P. slvestris)

Recommended Dosage & Length of Usage

Can use up to 3 times daily for the duration of symptoms, no longer than 21 days. If you require something longer than 21 days, have two separate blend, one that you use during the waxing moon, and one you use during the waning moon to avoid toxicity - and see a trusted holistic healthcare practitioner about root cause.

Why It Works (Actions):

  • Decongestant - Essential oil that relieves nasal congestion in the upper respiratory tract: Patchouli, Pine

  • Expectorant - Essential oil that encourages the discharge of mucus from bronchio-pulmonary passages: Pine

  • Anticatarrhal - Essential oil that heals inflammation of the mucous membranes: Pine

Methods of use:

Cautions & Contraindications

A note about toxicity: toxic constituent refers to the constituent that can become a toxin in your body if used longer than the recommended time or used more than the recommended dosage.

  • Patchouli - The toxic constituents are patchoulenone and cinnamic acid. Avoid the use of patchouli with loss of appetite or anorexia, because it may reduce appetite. Due to research, if patchouli essential oil contains more than 5% alpha-bulnesene (delta-guaiene), it should be used with extreme care and never orally where these conditions exist: anticoagulant drugs, surgery, childbirth, peptic ulcer, hemophilia or other bleeding disorders. Always check the safety precautions for each oil and follow the administration guidelines and dose and duration. Duration of exposure is as important as concentration. This is an important safety consideration throughout your studies. Always consider dose and duration whenever you use essential oils.

  • Pine - The toxic constituent is alpha-pinene. Dermal irritant: Avoid use on sensitive or damaged skin, because it may cause eczema-type reactions on allergy-sensitive skin. It is contraindicated during pregnancy and while breastfeeding.

The 6 Best Herb Choices

1) Rosemary
Age safety: ⚠️ Adults + teens
Magical role: Authority, protection, command

Why it belongs:
Rosemary gives the respiratory system clear energetic orders. It mobilizes stagnation, reinforces command over airflow, and prevents congestion from lingering or reasserting itself. It pairs naturally with pine’s opening force.

2) Lemongrass
Age safety: ⚠️ Adults + teens
Magical role: Energetic eviction, uncrossing

Why it belongs:
Lemongrass removes what does not belong in the airways. It supports drainage and resolution rather than suppression, making it ideal for waning moon work and congestion with an energetic or environmental component.

3) Chrysanthemum
Age safety: ⚠️ Adults + teens
Magical role: Cooling, pressure release, crown clearing

Why it belongs:
Upper respiratory congestion often carries head pressure and mental heat. Chrysanthemum cools and decompresses the cranial field without sedating breath or dulling awareness.

4) Honeysuckle
Age safety: ⚠️ Adults + teens
Magical role: Release without rupture

Why it belongs:
Honeysuckle dissolves congestion that has become emotionally or energetically “stuck,” especially after prolonged illness, grief, or environmental exposure. It clears without aggression and allows the system to let go safely.

5) Calendula officinalis
Age safety: ✅ All ages
Magical role: Solar repair, tissue reassurance

Why it belongs:
Calendula seals and restores after congestion breaks. It reassures the system that breathing is safe again and helps prevent rebound tightness or irritation.

6) Gomphrena (globe amaranth)
Age safety: ✅ All ages
Magical role: Spell stamina, respiratory endurance

Why it belongs:
Gomphrena stabilizes the blend across multiple days of use and ensures the working resolves cleanly once symptoms pass, without energetic depletion.

This blend clears, restores, and steps back — exactly as a well-built respiratory working should

Crystal Field Architecture — Permanent Oil Submersion (optional)

Intent of the Blend
Energetic support for breath clearing: open airways, relieve congestion, encourage discharge of stagnation, soothe respiratory pressure, and empower clean drainage and stamina. All crystals chosen must support clearing without agitation, structural calm within the air element, and ongoing energetic safety when immersed long-term.

Six Crystal Choices for This Blend

1. Blue Lace Agate
Blue Lace Agate soothes the communication field of breath — throat, neck, vagus nerve patterns tied to respiration. In your correspondence, it calms emotional tension around expression and breath rhythms. In this blend, it supports clear, gentle breathing by reducing chest-throat tension and encouraging balanced inhalation/exhalation without force.

(From your correspondence: soft, soothing expression; relaxes throat & chest tension; regulates breath-linked anxiety.)

2. Grey Agate
Grey Agate provides emotional and nervous-system neutrality. In respiratory clearing, congestion and breath holding can come from emotional charge or stress. Grey Agate modulates extremes and prevents reactivity that interferes with open airways, creating a composed field that neither suppresses nor overdrives.

(From your correspondence: emotional buffering, grounded rationality, stabilizing autonomic responses.)

3. Smoky Quartz
Smoky Quartz is the pressure-release & grounded discharge stone. Congestion carries stuck energy; Smoky Quartz draws excess downward and out of the field, aiding energetic drainage rather than internal buildup of stress or charge.

(From your correspondence: grounding, absorbing, clearing residual energy and stabilizing intense fields.)

4. Clear Quartz
Clear Quartz amplifies and stabilizes the overall intent of the blend. It clarifies systemic patterns without adding heat or agitation. In this respiratory blend, it helps keys the energetic architecture so openness and clearance are deep and sustained, and not simply fluctuating.

(From your correspondence: amplifies clarity and coherence across chakras when intention is defined.)

5. Moss Agate
Moss Agate supports natural, subtle flow and regeneration rather than forceful clearing. Congestion relief should restore rhythm without sharp transitions; Moss Agate brings quiet, organic movement and steadiness, helping the respiratory field return to its own healthy patterns.

(From your correspondence: fertile, restorative, steady support for natural cycles.)

6. Unakite
Unakite integrates emotional and physical body layers. Upper respiratory issues often reflect both physical tension and emotional holding. Unakite helps the body process subtle patterns stored in the chest and arms of the nervous system without emotional flooding, supporting completion and release after clearing has occurred.

(emotional healing with physical grounding; gentle processing without catharsis.)

Synergetic Pairs

Synergetic Pair 1 — Blue Lace Agate + Grey Agate
Calms the breath field while buffering emotional reactivity. Blue Lace Agate supports the physical rhythm of breath; Grey Agate stabilizes the nervous response so the body doesn’t tighten or hold.

Why this works: Breath is not just physical — it’s tied to emotional safety. This pair creates a field of soft but steady openness rather than push or resistance.

Synergetic Pair 2 — Smoky Quartz + Clear Quartz
Grounded discharge integrated with clarity. Smoky Quartz draws stuck energy out and down; Clear Quartz ensures the field around breath remains coherent and unconflicted.

Why this works: Together they clear stagnation and stabilize that clearance so it does not return as reactive congestion.

Synergetic Pair 3 — Moss Agate + Unakite
Natural flow meets emotional–physical integration. Moss Agate supports the body’s own rhythm of release; Unakite ensures emotional patterns don’t obstruct that flow.

Why this works: Respiratory clarity isn’t only about opening — it’s about ongoing ease and completion of any stored patterns. This pair supports that continuity.

Synergetic Pair 4 — Blue Lace Agate + Clear Quartz
Breath calm with amplified intention. Blue Lace Agate soothes the communication and respiratory field; Clear Quartz anchors and extends that calming intention without pushing.

Why this works: This pair supports precise, smooth breathing with minimal charge or tension.
